Based on Nitrarium
A new agent for influenza has been discovered by researchers from Novosibirsk. It is based on the roots of nitrarium bush. The DNA of the plant is ingrafted with bacteria Agrobacterium rhizogenes, after that the bush has the root mass quickly, increasing the mass of biologically active substances.
Researchers from the Central Siberia Botanic Garden and State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology Vector have found out that the microbial strain of Nitrarium effectively inhibits influenza virus H3N2 and H5N1.
Preclinical tests in animals have shown that the drug has potent antiviral activity and effectively inhibits influenza virus H5N1 and H3N2.
An application for patent has already been submitted.
