On the Way to Personalized Medicine
The institute of pharmacy and translation medicine will be established at the I.M. Sechenov Moscow State Medical University.
Establishment of a new structural unit is another step on the way to the University transformation into an innovative research university of a European level. In reality that is part of the program implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation according to a decree by Vladimir Putin of May 7, 2012 “On Measures for Implementation of Public Policy in the Field of Education and Science”. Implementation of the program should enhance the prestige of Russian higher education and bring at least five of the Universities involved in the project into a top 100 of best universities.
As of September 1, 2016 the Faculty of Pharmacy of the First I.M. Sechenov Moscow State Medical University within the structure of the First Medical University since 1958, is abolished.
The First I.M. Sechenov Moscow State University initiated establishment of an International Consortium for step-by-step introduction (translation) into the practice of healthcare and biopharmindustry of segments of predicative-preventive medicine (PPM). “Establishment of international target projects in that area of medicine and pooling forces of the leading specialists and academic, public and commercial institutions is quite important for the medicine to acquire a status of predicateive, preventive and personalized, focused not on struggle with isolated diseases, but on individualized treatment of each patient, not correcting, but preventing the disease”, says Petr Glybochko, principal of First I.M. Sechenov MSMU.
