Not Just Narcolepsy, But Also Depression!
Modafinil, an analeptic drug is currently known to be used for treatment of narcolepsy-related somnolence. But it turns out that the drug is also effective for another disorder. It may be effectively used for treatment of depression. It has been shown by scientists from Cambridge University studying the effects of modafinil for cognitive disorders associated with depression.
Placebo-controlled studies have shown that modafinil improves episodic and operative memory.
A publication on these effects is available in Biological Psychiatry: CNNI.
