Depending on the Effect
A month ago we announced a program of target payment of drugs, a risk-sharing project in the Moscow region. The project concerned the cost of drugs for hepatitis C, with the company getting the payment only for the successfully treated patients.
Moscow region healthcare leaders went further. According to the chief clinical pharmacologist of the administration Vitaliy Omelyanovsky, who was present at a press-conference in the Moscow Region Government House, a pilot federal project involving personalized prescription and reimbursement of costs will be launched in the Moscow region. That project will enable regional Ministry of Health to restrict payments with the drugs prescribed to patients with a significant positive effect attained. If the drug doesn’t work, the ministry will not pay for it to the manufacturer.
According to the Minister of Healthcare of the Moscow Region Nina Suslonova, that measure will help resolve the issue of efficacy between established drugs and their generic versions, including locally manufactured drugs.
